Terms of Use
Last updated 18 September 2026
01
Who you are dealing with
UPI Zero. You can reach us at info@upizero.in.
By using this website or signing up, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
02
What we are not
We are not a bank, a payment aggregator, a payment gateway, or any kind of regulated financial institution. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by NPCI, the Reserve Bank of India, or any UPI application or bank.
Your money never passes through us. Payments travel over UPI from your customer’s bank account to yours, exactly as they do today. We do not hold, touch, route or have access to your funds at any point, and we never see your balance.
We help you set up collections and tell you what the rules say. We are not your lawyer, your accountant or your financial adviser, and nothing here is legal, tax or investment advice.
03
What it costs
Using UPI Zero is free. We do not charge you to sign up, to set up collections, or on the money you collect, and there is no commission.
Your payment gateway may charge a one-time amount of roughly ₹3 to ₹4 the first time each customer is set up. That amount is charged by the gateway, goes to the gateway, and does not come to us. We will tell you what it is before anything is set up.
If we ever introduce a charge of our own, it will not apply to anything you have already set up without your agreement.
04
About the fee information on this site
The figures on this site are our reading of NPCI’s published rules on Merchant Discount Rate, which take effect on 15 October 2026. We have tried hard to get them right and we check them against the source.
But rules change, and this framework is new. NPCI, the RBI, your bank or your gateway can amend, reinterpret or withdraw any of it, sometimes at short notice. The calculator is an estimate to help you think, not a quotation and not a guarantee of what you will be charged. What you are actually charged is decided by your bank and your gateway, not by us.
Check anything important with your own bank or adviser before making a decision that depends on it.
05
What we ask of you
By using the service, you confirm that:
- You are 18 or over and can enter into a contract.
- The details you give us are true, and the number you give us is yours.
- You are entitled to collect the money you are collecting, from the people you are collecting it from.
- You will tell your customers clearly what they are agreeing to before they approve anything, including the amount and how often it will be taken.
- You remain responsible for your own tax, GST, invoicing and record keeping. Those are yours, not ours.
- You will not use the service to collect money unlawfully, to mislead anyone, or to structure payments so as to evade a fee, a tax or a reporting obligation.
06
Early access
We are signing people up ahead of launch. That means features are still being built, dates can move, and something you were told in a message may change before it is delivered. We will be straight with you when it does.
Signing up puts you on a list to be contacted. It does not by itself create an obligation on us to provide a service, and no service is being provided until we have spoken and set it up with you.
07
Other people's names and logos
UPI, BHIM and the associated marks belong to the National Payments Corporation of India. PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, CRED and the banks named on this site each own their own names and logos.
Where we name or show them, it is only to say which apps your customers can pay from. It does not mean any of them sponsors, endorses, or is connected with UPI Zero. If any owner would rather we did not show their mark, tell us and we will remove it.
The UPI Zero name, logo, wording and design are ours. Please do not copy them or present them as your own.
08
Where our responsibility ends
We give the service as it is. We cannot promise the site will always be available, or that a payment will always succeed: that depends on banks, UPI and your customer’s account, none of which we control.
We are not liable for a payment that fails or is delayed by a bank, a gateway or UPI itself; for a customer cancelling their approval; for money you did not collect because you relied on an estimate here; or for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by Indian law, including for fraud. Where liability can be limited and we are found liable, it is capped at the amount you have paid us, which for a free service is nil.
09
Stopping
You can stop at any time. Ask us and we will stop contacting you and delete your details as set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or refuse service to anyone using it unlawfully, misleading their customers, or putting others at risk. We will say why.
10
Complaints
Our Grievance Officer handles complaints: info@upizero.in. We acknowledge within 48 hours and aim to resolve within a month, as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require.
11
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and tell you directly if the change materially affects you.
